Artist’s Biography: Lorna S. Tate
In 2000, during her time living in Edinburgh, Scotland, Lorna was gifted her first set of paints by her dear pal Charlie MacLean, who felt that her pencil sketches could be taken to a whole new level with colour! Moved to action by this generosity, she began to teach herself what is now a passion. Jeff Banks, at Almonte’s JB Arts also has the dubious honour of providing valuable tips and coaching, many thanks to him for his guidance.
Proud to now call Lanark County her home, and busy as many budding artist’s are with careers and life, she has been trying to build a wee portfolio and now shares with you some of her small collection of work in water based oils.

The subjects vary and reflect her passions and interests. The “tribute pieces” celebrate those who serve our nation and communities, not enough can ever be said to thank them for what they give.
Asphalt Amazon Art intends to blend a passion for all things “Motorhead” from traditional pin-striping ON bikes or passenger vehicles, to paintings of anything with wheels! 1Shot paints are used for smaller projects on mailboxes & signs as she learns the traditional art of pin-striping, which is making a resurgence as many like minded "purists" prefer not to use decals on their precious vehicles. *Watch this space!
